Water Engineering Expert Jon Beekman
Joins Wright-Pierce
Senior Advisor Brings 35 Years of Experience in the Municipal Environmental Sector
Wright-Pierce is pleased to announce that Jon M. Beekman has recently joined the company as Senior Advisor with responsibility for planning and managing strategic initiatives. His expertise will complement our design team in developing creative solutions to complex environmental issues.
Mr. Beekman has over 35 years of experience working in public administration, government relations, legislative affairs, public policy formulation and implementation, resource management and environmental planning. Prior to joining Wright-Pierce, Mr. Beekman held senior level management positions in New England municipalities and at multi-national engineering firms where he has been instrumental in assisting public and private clients in negotiating public policy issues including resource management and regulatory compliance. He has extensive technical experience in the operations and maintenance of major water utilities and has worked with over 200 New England communities and the MASS DEP in the design, construction management, and operations of ground and surface water treatment plants.
In addition to his work in both the public and private sectors, Mr. Beekman has also held leadership roles in numerous professional organizations including President of the New England Water Works Association (NEWWA) and the American Water Works Association, New England Section, and President and Fellow of the American Council of Engineering Companies.
Mr. Beekman has written articles for several trade publications and is routinely invited to speak at regional and national professional organizations about resource issues, environmental management and permitting, public administration, and legislative questions.
