Jon Edgerton Receives "Main Street Hero" Award

Wright-Pierce Senior Vice President Honored for Work in Revitalizing Maine's Downtowns

Jonathan Edgerton, PE, Senior Vice President and Director of the firm's civil engineering group,  received the "Main Street Hero" Award for his commitment to revitalizing Maine's downtowns. In presenting the award at the annual Maine Development Foundation meeting, Roxanne Eflin, Director of the Maine Downtown Center, described Jon as a "true downtown champion…a true transformer…who has worked in more than 150 communities statewide over the last 20 years. He has a comprehensive understanding of the myriad issues facing downtowns, and has the ability to get things done."

Mr. Edgerton, Director of the Wright-Pierce Civil Engineering Group, has over 25 years of infrastructure engineering and municipal consulting experience with a focus on the planning and implementation of community revitalization projects and economic development initiatives. He has led teams of planners, architects and engineers in the revitalization of downtowns and riverfronts throughout Maine including Sanford, Bath, Rockland, Richmond, Bangor, Gardiner, Hermon, Biddeford, Saco, Lewiston, Auburn, Van Buren and Bridgton, as well as large institutional and commercial developments at Eastern Maine Medical Center, Brunswick Naval Air Force Station (BNAS) and Poland Spring bottling facilities in Hollis and Kingfield.

Jon has been an active member of The Maine Downtown Center since 2001. He served on the Advisory Council, co-chairing it for the last four years, and remains a Senior Advisor. He is also a member of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Maine Wastewater Control Association (MWWCA), and American Public Works Association (APWA) Consulting Engineers of Maine.
