The Town of Hull, Massachusetts and its Water Resources committee selected Wright-Pierce and its assembled team of nationally recognized experts to evaluate the feasibility of developing a first of its kind desalination facility. This project has involved the evaluation of the coastal geomorphologic processes. The evaluation includes the performance of an 18-mile offshore seismic marine reflection geophysical survey. This survey indicates three areas along the Town coastline where sand sediments are as deep as 120 feet below sea level. A test well exploration program is scheduled to evaluate the water bearing characteristics and water quality of the aquifer sediments.
The project will be completed over six phases, which include a feasibilty study, financing strategies, regulatory compliance, and gaining public support along with design, construction, and operations of the facility.
