Water/Wastewater/Hydraulic Lead Project Engineer
Wright-Pierce, an award-winning, multi-discipline environmental engineering firm specializing in water, wastewater and civil infrastructure, is seeking a Water/Wastewater/Hydraulic Lead Project Engineer to join our company. This is unique opportunity for a career-oriented person to receive the experience to become one of our hydraulic modeling and design experts. Your mentors have decades of experience in steady-state, extended period and transient hydraulic modeling of water/wastewater system; water quality modeling; and design of pumping, surge protection, conveyance and treatment systems. In this role, you will work closely with them to enhance the success of our Clients by delivering reliable solutions, responsive service and superior value. Typical projects may include:
- Developing and calibrating steady-state, extended period, and transient hydraulic and water quality models
- Using models to analyze systems, size water/wastewater infrastructure components, and develop improvements to resolve issues and/or plan for future conditions
- Preparing master plans, feasibility analyses, and design documents for water/wastewater systems
Responsibilities
- Modeling, analyzing, planning and designing water/wastewater systems
- Analyzing and manipulating data
- Periodically traveling to project and client sites for meetings, data collection and collaboration
- Preparing technical reports, design documents and presentations
- Preparing and presenting papers for conferences
- Assisting with proposals by developing work approach, level of effort and schedule
- Take on more responsibility with increasing experience

Desired Experience
- At least 4 years of directly-related experience in water/wastewater system hydraulic modeling and planning
- Proficient with hydraulic modeling, data management and related software packages (e.g., InfoWater, InfoSWMM, WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, Surge, Excel, ArcGIS)
Certifications
- PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or environmental engineering; Master or PhD degree preferred
