As we welcome 2023, we reflect on the past 12 months and how thankful we are for our clients and colleagues who allow us to pursue our purpose to engineer a better environment. There have been significant improvements to water, wastewater, and civil infrastructure to protect public health, the environment, and the character of our communities, but there is still work to be done.
This past year we welcomed 45 new staff to Wright-Pierce as well as 17 engineering student interns. During 2022 we also celebrated 75 years in business, a milestone we could not have reached without your support. Whether you have worked with Wright-Pierce for years or are just getting to know us, we thank you.
The photo that accompanies this message is one of personal importance to us – a snapshot of a winter sunrise from our own Sandy Mauro. It captures the now much improved and teeming with fish Androscoggin River adjacent to our Topsham Maine office. The Clean Water Act, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2022, played a major role in cleaning up the Androscoggin and many other rivers across the US. We look forward to 2023 and beyond for the opportunity to assist our current and future clients with ongoing infrastructure engineering needs.
In the year ahead, we will continue our now 76-year legacy as an employee-owned engineering firm, achieved through the trust and working relationships with our valued clients. We will continue to focus on addressing our industry’s newer challenges such as PFAS and emerging contaminants but stay true to our roots in taking on projects small and large to best serve our clients.
On behalf of all of us at Wright-Pierce, we wish you and yours all the best in the year ahead.
