Control Systems Engineer

Wright-Pierce, an award-winning, multi-discipline environmental engineering firm specializing in water, wastewater and civil infrastructure, is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to join our company.

Office locations: Portland, ME | Andover, MA

Responsibilities

• Evaluation and design of Instrumentation and Control (I&C) systems
• Development of process and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID)
• Select instruments necessary for equipment automation, and select appropriate instrument technology
• Design control system network architectures and interfaces
• Develop programmable logic controller (PLC) control narratives and review programming for water/wastewater treatment facilities
• Outline SCADA requirements and functionality
• Coordinate with other disciplines to produce a fully coordinated project
• Develop conceptual and preliminary studies and reports
• Specifications for bidding and construction
• Review contractor plans and shop submittals
• Field visits to review contractor’s work, resolution of field-related problems
• Control system startup, testing, troubleshooting, and process optimization

Experience

• 1-4 years of prior related work experience required
• Experience in the water/wastewater industry preferred

Certifications

• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or Control System Engineer (CSE)

Education

• B.S. in related Engineering field of study
